The South Hams countryside consists of untamed open Moorland to the North with granite Tors marking the highest ground. To the South a rugged dramatic coastline that is rich in maritime history with tidal estuaries and historic towns including Dartmouth, Salcombe, Bigbury Bay, the Erme estuary, Newton Ferrers and Noss Mayo on the Yealm, Wembury and Plymouth Sound.
